How Linkedin helps to get Job everyone wants to know about this secret to land a job with a dream company. In the last few years, LinkedIn has become an increasingly popular way to network with people in the industry. More employers are using LinkedIn as a recruitment and hiring tool, and students and professionals are also using it in their job searches.

There are more than 277 million people on LinkedIn at last count. LinkedIn is a professional networking platform as well as a powerful job board and search engine. The fact that 94% of recruiters use social media, in particular LinkedIn, to fill open positions should get one excited.

In the latest survey, 77% of LinkedIn users said that it helped them research people and companies. One would want to know everything you possibly can about the people who are interviewing them. It will help them ask good questions as well as find points of connection over which they can bond.

Connections act as the fuel in the tank that makes the engine work on LinkedIn. LinkedIn stresses building connections. It is very hard to find a job through LinkedIn with only 30 or 40 connections. Increase that to 200 or more and get somewhere with your job hunt.

Most companies also have a page on LinkedIn. Click the ‘Follow’ button on the company page. Another useful job-hunting feature on LinkedIn that few people utilize is the alumni search.

Recruiters use straightforward keyword searching on LinkedIn to find their clients the right individuals, in the right industries, seeking the right jobs, so it makes it really easy for them to find people.

LinkedIn profiles have sections for a reason. One wouldn’t deliver an answer in an interview when they thought they’ve had enough.

Many companies will create a company page on LinkedIn to represent themselves and build their online presence. The company page is similar to the brand or fan page on Facebook, where a company generates activity and discussions and shares updates. This page allows seeing the basic information about the company and people that currently work there. One can also view any job openings at the company.

By following companies at which you are interested in working, you can stay current with company news and updates; if you get an interview with one of these companies, you will have less research to do ahead of your interview. You can find these updates on the company’s page or on your homepage/activity feed. You can also invite people at this company to connect and include a message.

LinkedIn’s self-publishing platform gives a platform to share and comment on industry trends. It’s a great way to showcase professional knowledge and position yourself as a good leader within the industry.

As much as LinkedIn is currently one of the greatest tools available for finding the job of dreams, it’s not about the job. It’s about one’s future. It’s about taking a genuine and active interest in your career and life. It’s about relationships, opportunities, and all kinds of possibilities that could come your way because you are now in touch with hundreds of interesting people representing a vast continuum of backgrounds, talents, connections, and experiences.
