Though both the roles see a slight growth decline once the experience hits beyond 20+ years which is due to the person being in similar roles without moving up in the ladder. In both roles, people do move up in the ladder leaving behind the ones who don’t up-skill and improve.

You can also see the major contrast in the salary difference between the project manager where the Technical program managers earn almost 2 times more salary than the project managers of similar experience.
