Free PDU Log & Renewal Tracker (All PMI Certifications)

Free PDU Log and Renewal Tracker

For every PMI certification – PMP, PgMP, PfMP, PMI-PBA, ACP, RMP, SP, CP, CPMAI, PMOCP and CAPM

A spreadsheet that does what a plain PDU list cannot: it checks the split, not just the total. Log an activity once and it tells you whether you can actually renew, or which Talent Triangle area is still short.

You can hit 60 PDUs and still fail to renew

This is the part most renewal guides skim over. PMI does not simply want 60 PDUs from a PMP holder. It wants at least 35 of them from Education, and within those, a minimum in each of the three Talent Triangle areas. A cycle of 60 Education PDUs all earned in Ways of Working does not renew you.

The second trap is quieter. PMI only counts what you have actually submitted in CCRS before your cycle ends. Plenty of people earn their PDUs and never claim half of them.

The totalsYour credential’s full requirement, and how many you still need.
The Education minimumAnd the separate minimum in each of the three Talent Triangle areas.
The Giving Back capOver-cap PDUs stop inflating your total, the way PMI counts them.
The practitioner sub-capCapped automatically inside Giving Back.
Earned vs claimedThe gap between what you have done and what PMI has been told about.
Your monthly paceWhat you need per month to finish the cycle on time.

How a row works

One activity, one row. Put the PDUs in the column PMI awards them to. If a single course earns PDUs in two areas, both numbers go on the same row, and the Total column adds them up.

What PMI requires, by certification

Three-year cycle. Checked 28 October 2026 against the April 2026 revision of PMI’s CCR Certification Requirements Handbook. PMI’s handbook is the authority – confirm there before you rely on any figure.

Get the tracker

We will email you the file. Two fields, and we send you the updated version whenever PMI revises the CCR Handbook, which is the real reason to leave an address rather than download a file that goes stale.

Worth knowing

It works in Google Sheets

Drive, New, File upload, then open with Google Sheets. Every formula uses functions both applications share, so nothing breaks on import. The dropdowns and the colour rules carry over.

Giving Back PDUs are optional

You can renew on Education PDUs alone, and the dashboard will tell you when you have. The Giving Back columns are there for people who volunteer, mentor or create content, and for the practitioner PDUs almost everyone under-claims.

Keep your evidence

PMI can audit any PDU claim. Hold on to certificates and confirmation emails for the full cycle.

One honest caveat. A tracker does not earn PDUs. It tells you where you stand and stops you discovering a Talent Triangle gap in the last fortnight of your cycle. The earning is still yours to do, and the links below are the quickest routes we know.
