Want some Quick Tips to Crack a Marketing Interview. Read the below strategy

Prior to the interview, make sure you research the organization well and know about its products and services. Keep in mind that knowledge is nothing without application and thus make sure your ideas are something that can actually be executed.

  • Prepare a few marketing ideas or strategies for the company based on your research. Present these ideas and plans at the right time in the right way. Make sure you’re not criticizing the company’s present strategy, but only putting to the table your own ideas in a humble positive manner. This approach can go a long way if done right.
  • Marketing is all about selling and buying. An interview is pretty much the same deal. Here, you have to sell your skills and talent to the employer in order to be hired. Make sure you have a well-documented portfolio that involves your achievements, work experience, creative ideas, successful executions, and so on to create an image.
  • One of the biggest marketing strategies existent in today’s world is social media marketing. Some of the leading organizations have made their mark by being in the eyes of the public constantly and by following the “right time, right place” principle. This form of marketing strategy was never existent a few years back. Hence, marketing is one such field where you need to be on a constant lookout for the latest trends and technology to devise a plan accordingly.
  • Go through several case questions to help you understand and evaluate the business. The basic case frameworks cover pretty much all marketing-related questions. There is never a right answer here since many are hypothetical business situations. Make sure you analyze the situation well and take the interviewer through your thought process.
  • When given a hypothetical situation, never jump to recommendations or marketing tactics without thoughtful analysis. Even if you do not take the interviewer through your thought process, make sure you’re able to substantiate your response with logical reasoning.

Ample case studies and frame questions are available online. Do go through a few prior to the interview, but make sure you do so to get an idea and not to answer each one of them as this will make you go crazy. Good luck!
