How to “Ace the Interview“, every candidate thinks about this every time he goes for an interview.
“Well begun is half done,” goes a saying. An early impression will leave the interviewer awe-impressed. Impressing your interviewers sounds like easy stuff but you would overlook these important elements which you might want to remind yourself. Here are some tips to keep in mind and look into-
DRESS: The first suggestion is to dress appropriately, decent but not provocative. Dress in the way you are standing for the position. The interviewers want to offer the position in the prospect that you are able to make it prestigious.
GREET: Always wear a natural smile which will also blend the way you put words at greeting the interviewers. Don’t be too loud or talk too long in the introduction. The first impression is the last impression! Your personality will win the heart of the interviewers. Stand up when you approach them and extend a hand for a decent handshake
TIME: Punctuality is what bosses look for. A boss will test your promptness and punctuality. Be on time. You don’t have excuses for reaching late.
PREPAREDNESS AND CONFIDENCE: Preparedness and confidence are the biggest tools for a satisfactory interview. This is what an interviewer will be looking at. A prospective employer is able to articulate questions through his knowledge and brilliance. It is important to note that you will be a blunder in the eye of an interviewer if you are speaking at a pace sounding answers in a memorized form.
CONFIDENCE V/S OVERCONFIDENCE: There is a major line separating the two. During an interview, you are asked to articulate an idea about a certain project, and you become so self-affirming that you totally disagree with the interviewers and begin to argue with the interviewers(consider them bosses), you are lessening great chances of impressing the interviewers. Do not dominate the interview with your own answer. Just share your opinion.
How much do you know about the company? If you have full knowledge of the company, their achievements, interests, agendas, their market or public position, etc. It will certainly impress the interviewers.
ORIGINALITY: Another of the key points is to “BE YOURSELF”. Nothing can beat an indomitable spirit and original presence than the pretense of looking too good or talking too wise which is quite risky
KNOW YOUR INTERVIEWER: To impress an interviewer, it is always good to quickly study the man questioning you. One man may be humorous, other may be pretty seriously looking, one may have a way of questioning you in a tricky manner. To impress an interviewer is to answer and respond to their satisfaction.
An interviewer looks for people who have a sense of practicality, curiosity, creativity, and the intuition to discover and invent. Be updated and know your surroundings too. A tensed and nervous look will also risk your chance of impressing the interviewers. Be sound, make a free, light conversation with the interviewers!
So keep the above points in mind and Ace the Interview next time.
